A pohutukawa in flower stands on a hill above Daisy Bay. The pohutukawa is a native New Zealand tree sometimes called the "New Zealand Christmas Tree" as it produces beautiful red flowers right on Christmas time, which of course falls in summer in the southern hemisphere.
The model was stitched on 32-ct Lugana by Chris Wills of Waiuku, New Zealand.
