Nebula

This design is charted from the painting "Nebula" by Johanna Pieterman.

Johanna says: As long as I can remember, I have always loved cats... Cats were in my cradle when I was a baby, I was brought upwith them and they have been around me for most of my life so far. Therefore when I chose to create art, I of coursehad to include them in all forms. This big cat is a Clouded Leopard, or Neofilis. In Dutch the name for this big cat is"Nevelpanter" which freely translates into "Misty Panther", and the Latin for Mist is Nebula, which I found to be amost appropriate name for this piece of us and them in unity... Nebula comes close to our word Nevel, and I love thesound of it. Just had to create a visual around this word. Somehow the lady in the piece turned out to be NativeAmerican, and I don't know why. She just wanted to be there. The mystery of creating is wonderful, becausesometimes I really don't have any idea how my scribbling is gonna turn out... which ways it goes, and what it meansin the end.
